Hello CyberDSA 2023,
This is my first time attending an International IT Security event in a foreign country. I received an invitation as a representative of the community I'm part of. Since no one else could attend, I ended up going by myself.
CyberDSA (Cyber Digital Services, Defence & Security Asia) 2023

I received the invitation two weeks before the event. Flight tickets and a hotel reservation were provided three days before the event. Nervous? Definitely. It's my first time traveling abroad alone, and I wasn't picked up from the airport.
The seminar day arrived.
The event started at 9 AM local time. And yes, it was exactly 9 AM. No delays.
The opening ceremony was solemn and quite impressive. This is the first time I've attended an IT seminar (as a participant) that wasn't boring.
I gained a lot of insights and new knowledge about the event concepts in another country. I might slowly implement some of these concepts in my own organization, starting from discipline, regulations, ethics, and interacting with others.
From the speakers' perspective, their clarity was really inspiring. The questions were also limited, so as not to disrupt the schedule for the next speakers.
However, due to my passive English skills, I didn't interact much with unfamiliar people. I only interacted with those known to my friend in Malaysia. I mainly observed how they interacted with others.
In fact, there are many insights that can be obtained from this event. Because I admit, very different from in Indonesia. The people are more disciplined, easy to manage, ethical when they are with other people.
I feel like I want to slowly implement it in Indonesia. But it's hard to be alone. Must collaborate.
It seems like I can start from small things first. Like discipline.
Overall, I'm interested in joining other international events. So I can learn about the culture of that country.
